About Kaan TURK

SEO Consultant - 15 Years of Hands-On Search Engine Optimisation

VETASSESS AccreditedAMI Member15 Years Experience250+ Projects

The Short Version

I'm Kaan Turk, a search engine optimisation consultant based in Melbourne, Australia, serving businesses across Australia and New Zealand. I have 15 years of hands-on SEO experience and more than 250 completed projects - from enterprise brands like Louis Vuitton and Enterprise Rent-A-Car to ambitious local businesses building their organic growth engine.

I hold a VETASSESS accreditation as a Marketing Specialist - a government-backed skills assessment issued under the authority of the Australian Department of Home Affairs. I'm a member of the Australian Marketing Institute and hold a Google Analytics 4 certificate. My methodology is built on entity-based semantic SEO: optimising content around how Google's Knowledge Graph actually understands topics, not just which keywords get searched.

15 Years of SEO Practice

I started optimising websites for search engines in 2011 - the year Google Panda fundamentally changed the industry by penalising thin, low-quality content at scale. Since then, I've practised SEO continuously through every major algorithm shift that has defined the discipline.

Panda and Penguin taught me that shortcuts have consequences. Hummingbird showed me that Google was moving toward understanding meaning, not just matching keywords. RankBrain introduced machine learning into ranking. BERT brought natural language understanding. The Helpful Content Update raised the bar for content quality and first-hand experience. And now, Google's AI Overviews are reshaping how organic search results are presented entirely.

Each of these updates didn't just change the rules. They eliminated practitioners who couldn't adapt. Fifteen years of sustained practice across these transformations has given me pattern recognition that no certification or course can replicate.

Real Data, Not Blog Posts

I hold verified Google Search Console and Google Analytics records from over 250 projects spanning luxury retail, eCommerce, SaaS, professional services, hospitality, and technology. When I tell you what works, it's because I've measured it across hundreds of campaigns - not because I read it in a blog post.

Cross-Market Perspective

This cross-market experience - spanning Turkey, Europe, and the Australia-New Zealand region - gives me a perspective that purely domestic practitioners cannot offer. I understand hreflang implementation from real multi-market deployments, not textbook theory. I know how search behaviour differs between markets because I've measured it. And I've managed the stakeholder complexity that comes with enterprise-scale SEO across different languages, teams, and business units.

Credentials and Accreditations

Government validation, industry peer recognition, and platform operator endorsement - three layers of authority.

Government Validated
VETASSESS Marketing Specialist Badge

VETASSESS Accredited Marketing Specialist

ANZSCO 225113 - Department of Home Affairs

My primary professional credential is my VETASSESS accreditation as a Marketing Specialist. VETASSESS is the Australian Government's designated skills assessment authority, operating under the Department of Home Affairs. This is not a commercial certification you can purchase online - it is a government-backed, independently assessed validation of professional competence against the Australian national standard.

In practical terms, this means an independent, government-designated authority has reviewed my qualifications and professional experience and confirmed that I meet the Australian national benchmark for marketing professionals. Very few independent SEO consultants in Australia hold this accreditation.

My SEO Methodology: Entity-Based Semantic SEO

Most SEO practitioners still operate with a keyword-centric methodology: find high-volume keywords, create content targeting those keywords, build links to those pages. That approach worked a decade ago. It's increasingly ineffective in 2026.

My methodology is built on entity-based semantic SEO - an approach that aligns your content with how Google's Knowledge Graph actually understands and connects topics. Instead of optimising for isolated keywords, I optimise for entities (people, places, things, concepts) and the relationships between them.

Knowledge Graph Mapping

Mapping your business as a distinct entity within Google's Knowledge Graph, with clear attributes, relationships, and disambiguation signals.

Topical Authority

Building topical authority through content architectures that cover entity clusters comprehensively - not just individual keywords.

Structured Data (JSON-LD)

Implementing structured data that explicitly declares entity types, relationships, and properties in a format search engines can parse directly.

Search Intent Alignment

Aligning content with search intent at the entity level, ensuring every page satisfies the information need Google associates with that entity.

This approach is also the foundation for visibility in AI-generated search results - Google's AI Overviews, conversational AI search, and answer engines all rely on entity understanding rather than keyword matching. When you work with me, your SEO strategy is built for how search works now and where it's going.

Why I Work as an Independent Consultant

After years of leading SEO projects for major brands within agency and in-house environments, I transitioned to independent consulting for one reason: I wanted to give clients direct access to senior-level expertise without the layers that come with agency structures.

When you work with me, there are no account managers relaying messages, no junior staff learning on your account, and no templated strategies applied regardless of your business context. You get a 15-year veteran who has led SEO for world-class brands, and every strategy, every recommendation, every analysis comes directly from that experience.

Direct Access

No account managers, no layers. You work directly with the strategist.

Quality Over Volume

Deliberately selective - limited clients ensure dedicated focus and results.

Full Accountability

Your success is directly tied to my reputation - and I take that seriously.

If you're evaluating whether an independent consultant or an agency is the right fit, I've written a detailed comparison to help you decide.

Beyond SEO

Mathematics Foundation

My mathematics degree gave me an analytical foundation that has shaped everything about how I approach search engine optimisation. Where many practitioners rely on intuition, I default to measurement, pattern recognition, and evidence-based decision making.

Continuous Learning

I read widely across technology, behavioural economics, and data science. I believe the best SEO work happens at the intersection of technical precision and genuine curiosity about how people search for information.

Based in Melbourne, Australia

I'm based in Melbourne, and when I'm not deep in a Search Console, you'll find me exploring everything this part of Australia has to offer. The intersection of mathematical thinking and search technology is where I do my best work.

Ready to Work Together?

If you're looking for an SEO consultant who combines deep technical expertise, proven enterprise experience, and a methodology built for where search is heading - I'd welcome the conversation.
